PlanetWise Snack Bags Review AND Giveaway!!!

As I had promised, I am going to review the PlanetWise snack bags that I purchased. I LOVE these! I purchased a set of the Sandwich bags and a set of the Snack Bags. I love that PlanetWise offers the clear bags. Now they offer adorable fabric designed bags as well, but the clear ones are cheaper which is great! I pack my husband a lunch every day that he works and I use a LOT of zippy bags. He usually gets one or two sandwiches and some carrots. He also gets fruit cups and peanut butter crackers, but those don’t need a zippy bag :). These reusable bags are going to come in so handy.

One thing I love about these bags is the corners. Inside, they have angled corners which make it super easy to clean. No bread crumbs can get caught in there since they are angled. This is wonderful to me. I also love that these bags can run through my washing machine if I need them to (which is really handy if you spring for the fabric design ones). The velcro is super secure on these bags so there is no worry that the cheerios you put in there are going to fall out.

Now if you like saving money these are totally worth it. You can get three sandwich size bags for $15.50 and three snack size bags for $13.95. These are definitely worth the money because you can use them indefinitely unlike the zippy bags that can really be used only once. Note: They also have gallon size bags, quart size bags, and sandwich wraps. All totally useful and overtime I will be adding at least the gallon and quart size to my stash 🙂

For the fun part, I am going to giveaway one of my snack bags. Please note this is a self-funded giveaway since I bought and paid for them. Open to the US only. Here is what you have to do to be entered:

Summerfest

As promised, I thought I would tell you about Summerfest. I enjoyed Summerfest. I didn’t get to go for as long as I wanted (since the time that I really wanted to go, it started to rain) but I did get to go for about an hour. I was bummed that they ran out of pork chop sandwiches. I was really hoping to have one so that I could put some super yummy Tabasco steak sauce on it, but hey I got chicken instead. Also, they had no orange shake-ups. I was SUPER bummed about this. I love orange shake-ups. I got a lemon one instead which was good, just not as good. I also veered off into the super duper unhealthy section of fair type food. As my dear aunt told me, “It’s not every day that you get it, so just get it!” I had myself a yummy funnel cake 🙂 I did share some with Pumpkin Head and she enjoyed it as well (She rarely ever gets sweet treats so it was definitely a treat for her). I thought I would include a couple of pictures that I took while at Summerfest. Yes, my town is small. 🙂 Enjoy them. And by they way, you definitely want to come back by tomorrow 🙂

Small Town Charm

So I live in a small town and I love living in a small town. One great thing about living in a small town is small town festivals! We have Summerfest this weekend which always proves to be fun! There is great food (pork chop sandwiches, fried chicken tenders, fries, cheese sticks, funnel cakes, fried oreos, etc.), great drinks (like lemon shake-ups and my favorite, orange shake-ups), and great entertainment (there is even an “Idol” type sing off). There are of course games, but the best part is the fellowship with friends! This weekend should be full of fun and fellowship and yummy treats 🙂

The only thing that may put a damper on this weekend is the impending rain. We DESPERATELY need some rain and we are set to get some (actually it is raining at this moment) this weekend. I just hate that we are supposed to get it while Summerfest is going on! If I remember to take some pictures this weekend, I will try and post them next week. I also think that I may have a surprise for you all next week 🙂 I will be reviewing the PlanetWise reusable snack and sandwich bags next week and there may be a surprise 🙂 So stay tuned next week! I hope you all have a great weekend. Is there anything fun that your town does?

Summer time :)

If you know me at all, you know that I am NOT an outdoorsy person. I don’t mind taking walks outside, but I’ve never really enjoyed being outside “playing.” I do enjoy reading outside though. I think part of my reason for not caring for the outdoors is that I am super pasty! Yep, I am REALLY white! And I burn, even when I have sunscreen on. I also don’t like bugs or dirt and as you know the outdoors are full of both bugs and dirt. However, one thing that I love about summer time is the ability to sun dry clothes. I love to sun dry clothes! I know that I could probably dry clothes outside at other times of the year, but for some reason it’s just not the same as summer sun dried clothes.

Another thing that I love about sun dried clothes is that it saves money 🙂 I love saving money and I love being able to do it in a very easy way! And of course the fact that the sun naturally kills germs is great! Especially on Hubbie’s NASTY work clothes!!

Honestly my favorite times of the year (season wise) are Spring and Fall. I enjoy the warm days and cool nights. It’s never too cold and never too warm. They always feel so nice and the smells that are associated with them are fantastic!

So what is your favorite time of the year and why? I love hearing what you guys like so please share 🙂

What are you interested in?

Okay guys! I need some feedback. I am wondering, what you are interested in hearing about? Here are some things that I am interested in and if you are interested in any of these things leave a comment and I may just write a post about it. I am interested in:

books (I absolutely love to read and love hearing what others are reading)

cloth diapers (I like using cloth diapers and totally see their value)

cooking (I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes)

movies (Hubbie and I LOVE movies!)

Gilmore Girls (well I mean who doesn’t love Gilmore Girls???)

music (I love pretty much any kind of music…Christian rap is my fave!)

kid stuff (I love finding new products for Pumpkin Head for sure!)

If you guys will let me know what you all are interested in, I would love to write about things that you guys are interested in. This will also help in the future if I ever get into doing giveaways. Just let me know. Hope you guys have a great Tuesday 😀

I’m still here :)

I promise that I haven’t gone away! I’m still here! Due to the fact that we had the 4th last week, I spent some time with my family and then had to do some major cleaning!

I’m not sure how many of you out there have trouble with time management, but I promise I am one of the WORST! I really struggle to keep a schedule and stay on task! Hubbie works two jobs so that I can stay home with Pumpkin Head…and I really appreciate this! However, I am not always the best SAHM. I have a hard time trying to keep my house clean and keeping up with everything else. I have always been a big procrastinator, but I am really working on this!

I recently found a website…FlyLady…and it has helped me some. I am still really struggling. This week I am trying to stay on a schedule. I have assigned myself 6 tasks a day that range in the amount of time it will take to preform them (anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour). I am hoping that by keeping this list and having Hubbie keep me accountable, I will actually get some things done! I will let you guys know on Sunday how I did!

Two other notes for you all…I have a fellow blogger who is also a friend and she has started a blog that I love! She is really inspiring me to WANT to loose weight and to really try and make some changes to my diet. I have already started some of these changes that I want to do (such as adding more fruit and veggies into my diet). So if you have time check out her blog here and show her some love! She is amazing and inspirational!

And for the second and last note…if you find yourself using TONS of zippy bags like I do (I use them to pack Hubbie’s lunch and snacks for Pumpkin Head) then perhaps you will like this: PlanetWise Clear Snack Bags. I recently won one (it came in a cute dinosaur print with the clear window) and I realized that I needed some more. It would ultimately save me money over the long run so I ordered some last week. Once I get them all in, I will let you know how much I love them! Stay tuned for that 😀

TruKid Products

Hello all! This is my promised review of a product that I love! I hadn’t heard of TruKid before this year. I actually entered some giveaways to try and win one of their products. Well persistence paid off for me and I finally won a bottle of their Face and Body Lotion. I am sooo glad that I got to try this product because I totally fell in love with it!

So one of my favorite things is how it smells. It smells like grapefruit and other citrus fruits! it is wonderful. Now for how it works…great! I use it on Pumpkin Head and it seems to make her skin sooo soft! Because of how much I liked the lotion, I decided I HAD to get some of their other products! So Pumpkin Head seems to have a sensitivity on her face to traditional sunscreen, I decided to get the Sunscreen stick, and then I decided I wanted to try the Shampoo and Conditioner (yep, it’s for kids but I really like it!) and I ordered the Silly baby wash!

I haven’t used the Sunscreen stick yet, but I can tell you this about it…it smells great. I swiped a little on my hand and it went on quite smoothly. So needless to say I think I will really like using it on Pumpkin Head. I love the shampoo and conditioner. It has the same great smell that the Face and Body Lotion. It leaves my hair feeling clean and soft which is great! The Silly Baby Wash smells exactly the same!

So something else that I like about this company and their products is that they are all natural. They don’t contain any of the bad stuff (which I could name all those things, but I’m not going to because I can’t spell all of them). Instead, here is a link to their website and about them! TruKid is definitely a product that I will continue using. I also totally recommend it to anyone looking for something that smells great and is safe for your kiddos 🙂

Hope you all have had a great Monday and have a great rest of the week 😀 Let me know if you guys have any products that you love and tell me why 😀

***I wasn’t paid for my review. I bought most of these products and the views expressed are strictly mine. I don’t promote products that I don’t like or love

Saturday’s

So Saturday’s are one of my favorite days. As a family we don’t do a whole lot. We spend time together and enjoy each others company. Today was no different. Hubbie and I have been enjoying Battlestar Galactica together. I’m not sure why I never watched it before, but all I know is that now I love it. Pumpkin Head has been extremely tired today. She got to bed extremely late last night since I was at my craft night. She usually goes to bed around 8 and it was almost 10 by the time she went to sleep! So yes, she was tired today, but we still managed to play some and watch some Sesame Street.

Hubbie did do something nice for me out in the SCORCHING HEAT for me today! We have a storage shed 🙂 and it was in desperate need of a lock. Hubbie went and put a Hash lock or something like that on the shed. It was super hot, but I’m pumped that he did it so that I can now put some things in the shed. Things that I have been dying to get out of my house for a while. I can finally clean out my house and have a yard sale :D!

Anyways, I hope you all have a great weekend. On Monday I will be reviewing a product that I love. So stay tuned 😀

Fun Friday!

Fun Fridays!

This is something I love! Crafting is something I love, though what I really mean is scrapbooking! Tonight I will be scrapbooking with some ladies at my church! I can’t wait! Hubbie will be at work, Pumpkin Head will get to be kept at Craft night and I will get to do any kind of craft I want! So what are some of your favorite things to do? Do any of you enjoy crafting?

I have currently been working on a particular scrapbook for about 4 years. Well, let me be honest. I took about 3 years off from Scrapbooking and am just now getting back into it. This is a book all about my dad. My dad passed away when I was 17 and I really want Pumpkin Head to have a fun visual way to get to know who her biological grandpa was. I really hope to finish this project soon!

Any craft-spiration for me? (You know craft inspiration 😀 ) Share with me!
