New (and hopefully helpful) Book

If any of you know me, you know that one thing I struggle with the most is cleaning my house. Sometimes it is just the motivation to do it (actually that may be most of the time). I recently (today actually) found a book that I am hoping will help me out. Hubbie gave me the ok to spend the $5 to get it and I started reading it. I am going to try it out and I will keep you up to date on how it is going and whether or not I would recommend the book. I am hoping that this will get to the heart of my issues and help me work through them. I want to be a great stay-at-home mom and be pleasing to God and honor Hubbie and teach Pumpkin Head. Can’t wait to see how this goes and tomorrow I will tell you the name of the book πŸ˜€ Love you all and share with me any tips you have πŸ˜€

Glade Expression!

I am a BzzAgent and recently had the opportunity to try out Glade’s new line of Glade Expressions. I got the chance to try the Glade Expressions Oil Diffuser and the Glade Expressions Fragrance Mist. I am always skeptical when purchasing items like this for my home. I really want them to work and they usually let me down. I LOVE my home to smell nice and over the years I have tried tons of different products. (I’m sure we all remember the reed diffusers that the fragrance just never lasted) Let me just say how impressed I have been thus far with both of the Glade Expressions products.

The Oil Diffuser is A-MAZ-ING! It is really pretty and will go well (I think) in most homes. I am usually less worried about how they look though. I usually am worried about how well they smell and how well they will do in my home. This diffuser is like having a tropical retreat in my home! All I need is the sound of the ocean and a warm breeze and I would be set! It smells very fruity, but isn’t overpowering (meaning it isn’t so strong that it is giving me a headache). My whole den (and even into my kitchen) smells amazing! Even Hubbie commented on how great it smelled (and I’m sure Pumpkin Head would too, if she understood about those things πŸ˜€ ). I think if I was shopping, I may would be turned off by the price at first. Sometimes when we shop at places like Wal-mart we feel that the item should always be priced low. This product is priced at about $8 for the starter kit. Most of us ladies will never think twice about spending that amount on a candle or a tart melt, but for some reason we might make a second thought on something like this. Let me tell you though, this product is WORTH it! It is GREAT!

The Fragrance Mist is nice too. I can control the amount that I want sprayed thus controlling how strong it is. It is a fancier way of having a traditional aerosol air freshener in your home because it is masked. When I was picking up my items, the young lady at the register remarked how well this Fragrance Mist works for her. She sprays it right over her cats litter box and she says it works so well. I don’t have a pet anymore so I can’t test that so I will take her word. I think this product works well and I have a feeling it will wind up Pumpkin Head’s room by her trash can πŸ˜€ (we may cloth diaper but for poopy diapers I always use disposable wipes!). I think it will definitely keep her room smelling fresher. The clean linen smell is amazing like all clean linen fragrances usually are.
I would definitely recommend purchasing either one, or both of these products. I think they work well and are definitely worth the price. I know that I will definitely continue to purchase the refills for the diffuser and am confident it will continue to make my home smell like a tropical retreat πŸ™‚

Busy, Busy, Busy!!!

So Pumpkin Head, Hubbie and I had quite a busy weekend! Haddie is almost 19 months old and she was in her first wedding this weekend. She was a flower girl. This was quite stressful for me! I worried that she wouldn’t walk down the aisle or that she might cry. She surprised me though! She did such a great job! She walked in and was a little tentative at first. I was up front on the floor by the photographer with a rubber ducky (one of Pumpkin Head’s favorite) and she finally saw me. She gave a deep belly laugh and came running. It was adorable and everyone in the whole church laughed at how cute she was. She did so good and I was so proud of her! So was Hubbie! I took her out afterwards so she didn’t get too loud as she was in quite an energetic mood. After the wedding we had a night of worship at a farm of one of our church friends. He recently started a ministry called ISI Ministries. Needless to say Pumpkin Head had quite a busy day. She was quite tired and slept well Saturday night. On Sunday we had church and on Sunday night we also had church. We had quite a show from Pumpkin Head as she entertained the youth for sure with all her antics!

This week is going to be a little slower for us! Yeah!!! We are doing some “school” things. We are working on teeth brushing and art projects. Last week we made Grandparent’s Day cards for the grandparents and mailed them out! We are also working on some Brainy Baby DVD’s that teach about Music, Colors, Numbers (which she is totally not interested in right now!) and animals. She enjoys that, but right now she is a little young to get too much out of it. However, I think it is good to go on and get started πŸ˜€

I will leave you with a picture from the wedding so you can see how cute Pumpkin Head was! Hopefully I will be able to get some that the photographer took so that I will have some that look even better. Hope you all have a great week! Let me know what’s been going on with you guys…I would sure love to know!

So yep, I’m a nerd!

I freely admit this! I.AM.A.NERD! Now why you may ask am I a nerd? I like geeky things! Yep, I admit it! I LOVE watching Doctor Who! I mean I love it! I dream about it (yeah I know it’s weird)! I want a TARDIS journal and I REALLY want the brand new Sonic Screwdriver Universal Remote! It looks soooo stinkin’ cool! It makes the sound and all! I want a t-shirt and I would love to have a custom made cloth diaper for Pumpkin Head! If the Doctor was real, I would totally want Hubbie, Pumpkin Head and me to travel with the Doctor!

Just to further prove how geeky I am and how much I LOVE Doctor Who…There is a contest going on at the BumGenius Blog for a chance to win cloth diapers. Now, this contest requires you to ‘dress’ up your stroller and your family and take pictures of it. I REALLY want to make Pumpkin Head’s stroller look like a TARDIS and I want Hubbie to dress up like the Doctor! How fun would that be????

I have recently discovered how much I love Science Fiction TV shows. I mean I have always loved Star Wars, but it has gotten worse! I think it all started when I began watching Battlestar Galactica and then watched Caprica. Yep, I totally fell in love with it and then I fell in love with a Time Lord πŸ˜€ Well I guess I have shared enough of my guilty pleasure with you at the moment.
Do you have a TV show that you love? Do you love Doctor Who (and secretly wish he was real so that you could travel through time and space and help save the world)? Share some comments!

Oh and remember: Don’t Blink!!! (and PLEASE comment if you know what that means!)

Really??? Put up a sign!

So yesterday we had a birthday bash for the youth group. Pumpkin Head and I ran to our local dollar store to pick up some clothes pins for clothespin tag. While looking for them (which takes forever because they aren’t where I think they should be) and finally finding the right aisle, I with Pumpkin Head in my arms slide down and land on my butt! Now, why would I slide down you may be thinking? Well of course, it is because there is a HUGE spill in the aisle. Is there any sign saying “Caution. Wet Floor”? No of course not. My kiddo is screaming and does any store employee come over to check on us? Nope, now a fellow patron does to make sure we are ok, but that’s it. I get up to the register with my clothespins and I let the guy at the register (who just started helping at check out because there was such a long line) know that there needs to be a sign stating that the aisle is wet because I just fell and while I’m ok and so is my daughter she does have a scrape on her leg. He basically down played it and said that when he got time, he would put up a sign. I sure hope no elderly person slipped and fell because I think they would really hurt themselves.

Today, I decided to go to the companies website and write a message about what happened so that they would be aware. Thus far I have heard nothing in response to my note. I really do hope that no one else fell and hurt themselves. I also have no idea what I slipped in as I am not sure that it was strictly water. I am also super glad that I held tightly to Pumpkin Head so that she didn’t hurt herself worse. Other some bruising on her foot and leg and I also have a bruise and am sore, we are fine. She seems totally unaffected by it. I guess I am for the most part other than being frustrated with people that should be handling a situation better.

Has anything like this ever happened to you? What did you do?

Housework

So I think that I may be one of the worst housekeepers ever! I try really hard, but I fail at this frequently. Yesterday, though, I got an itch to clean. Now this happens quite infrequently, but I am hoping that I can keep the momentum of yesterday. We have a laundry room in our house and it’s kind of been a catch all for junk. It’s been REALLY messy for a while, to the point of ‘I only want to go in there to wash clothes.’ Which is hard for me, because I LOVE (yep it’s odd) doing laundry and I was HATING it! So yesterday when Hubbie went to work (he leaves around two M-F) and Pumpkin Head still had about 2 hours to finish her nap, I started working on the laundry room (insert ominous music here). And you know what? I got a pretty good chunk of it cleaned during that time. Then, once Pumpkin Head went to bed, I finished it. It is all cleaned! Washer and Dryer are dusted, floor has been sweeped and mopped and everything is put away. Hubbie was shocked and how good it looks. He made the traditional remark of, “Hey did you know we had a room back there?” It made me feel really good! Tonight I am going to finish cleaning my kitchen. I am excited and am hoping to have this all finished tonight. If my momentum continues, hopefully I will get the den all cleaned on Saturday. Then on Monday I have plans for Hubbie and my bedroom and Tuesday, Pumpkin Head’s bedroom. Hopefully I will stay on task and be able to accomplish all my goals! Here is hoping it will work!

How do you keep your house clean? Do you keep a schedule or are you just treading water (that’s the way I feel lots of times!)?

Healthy Snack Day

Well, we have been battling bronchitis in our house this week. No fun! On Saturday, Pumpkin Head woke up with a feever of around 102 and she pretty much kept the fever all weekend. On Monday it was lower, but I decided to take her in anyways since she had started having a producing cough. Surprisingly to me she has bronchitis. I didn’t realize that you could get bronchitis in the summer. Of course, I now don’t feel so well, but hopefully I will start to feel better soon.

Anyways, today while Haddie was finishing her nap, I cut up some yummy fruit for our snack. I cut up cantaloupe (which is her favorite), kiwi (which I usually love, but it wasn’t the best I’ve had) and an apple (which we both love). Pumpkin Head ate every piece of cantaloupe that was there and tried the Kiwi, though she spit it out promptly πŸ™‚ She ate a piece or two of the apple though I don’t think she was in the mood for it since she had some with her lunch.

Healthy Snacks are fun and tasty and make me feel better about having an afternoon snack! I enjoy snacks and I enjoy food. I especially love fruit! My favorites are watermelon, oranges and strawberries! What are some of your favorite fruits? What are some of your favorite things to eat for a snack?

Hello :D

So I’ve been gone for about a week πŸ™‚ I went to Mississippi with Pumpkin Head while Hubbie was at camp. Pumpkin Head and I had a great time in Mississippi. We went to the zoo (which was her first time) with my mom and my in-laws. We had a great time, though Pumpkin Head got EXTREMELY tired! Mom and I went shopping and had sushi (which now I am really wanting some!) I also got to see my cousin who I haven’t seen in roughly 10 years! That was a WONDERFUL thing! I’ve surely missed her. I went to a painting class with a friend of mine which was sooo much fun! I visited with family and enjoyed myself. Traveling is always stressful, but I was really glad that I had my aunt traveling with me.

Needless to say, after all that traveling my house isΒ  a wreck. It totally stresses me out, but I am trying to tackle it in my six daily tasks πŸ™‚ Here’s to hoping that by Saturday the den, kitchen and bathroom are presentable in case anyone comes over! And this week is grocery shopping week which is TOTALLY fun (please note the sarcasm). If you have any good recipes that you want to share, please do, I’m always looking for new fun things to cook! Oh yes, tomorrow is also book mobile day and while I am pumped about that, I’m also sad because I didn’t get to read at all while I was traveling 😦

The winner of my very first giveaway was very easy to determine as only 1 person entered. So yeah to Faith who won a snack bag from PlanetWise πŸ˜€ I hope you all have a great week and hopefully I will get back in to blogging at least 4 times a week πŸ™‚ We will see πŸ˜€ Have a great week and share some recipes in my comments πŸ˜€
